Step 7: After 30 minutes
Step 8: Add meatballs to soup, cover, bring to a boil again. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
Step 9: Add chilies, cover, and simmer 40 minutes or until rice in meatballs is cooked.
Step 10: Add parsley during last 5 minutes of cooking.
Step 11: Taste and adjust seasonings.
Step 12: Beat eggs with lemon juice.
Step 13: Add a little hot liquid to egg mixture, then slowly stir into soup.

Step 15: Stir in red pepper flakes and cheese
