Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup peanut butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Get all ingredients ready

  • Step 2: In large bowl

  • Step 3: Mix sugar ,salt and sifted cocoa well.

  • Step 4: In a Pam sprayed heavy bottomed saucepan

  • Step 5: Bring water to boil over high heat.

  • Step 6: Reduce heat to medium and add cocoa mixture. Cook to soft-ball stage of about 10 minutes.

  • Step 7: Stirring constantly never leave

  • Step 8: Reduce heat to low and add butter and vanilla.

  • Step 9: Stir until butter melts.

  • Step 10: Remove the pan from the heat and quickly add peanut butter.

  • Step 11: Stir just until blended.

  • Step 12: Pour immediately into a heavily greased Pam sprayed 9x9 inch baking pan.

  • Step 13: Score 1 inch squares while warm.

  • Step 14: Let cool about 20 minutes and cut when firm.
