  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 450 degrees F

  • Step 2: Mix the flour and shortening with fork until resembles coarse meal.

  • Step 3: Add the buttermilk and stir until a dough forms.

  • Step 4: Drop them by large spoonfuls on to a greased baking sheet turn down heat and cook in a 400º F oven for 15 minutes.

  • Step 5: OR turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth

  • Step 6: Pat out to about 1/2 thick and cut biscuits out with biscuit cutter.

  • Step 7: Bake at 400 about 15 minutes
