  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 box(10 ounces) frozen spinach
  • 1/16 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • Bake:
  • 5 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 3 ounces fontina cheese, shredded
  • 2 ounces parmesan cheese, grated
  • Topping:
  • 4 ounces italian cheese blend

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Step 2: Butter the baking dish

  • Step 3: Pam spray

  • Step 4: Polenta:

  • Step 5: Whisk polenta into salted boiling water

  • Step 6: Whisk until Incorporated

  • Step 7: Turn down to a low simmer stirring occasionally

  • Step 8: Until done as instructions indicate

  • Step 9: Spinach:

  • Step 10: Heat butter

  • Step 11: Add flour

  • Step 12: Add seasoning

  • Step 13: Add milk

  • Step 14: Add thawed spinach

  • Step 15: Simmer until thickened

  • Step 16: Take off heat

  • Step 17: Stir in cheese

  • Step 18: Assemble:

  • Step 19: Pour in half polenta into casserole dish

  • Step 20: Layer spinach mixture on top

  • Step 21: Top with remaining polenta

  • Step 22: Add topping cheese

  • Step 23: Bake 30 minutes until golden
