The ingredients are:
  • 8 cups dry cannellini beans
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 cups onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomatoes,crushed
  • 3 cloves garlic,whole
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 whole dried bird chili

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak beans overnight

  • Step 2: Drain

  • Step 3: Spray crockpot with Pam

  • Step 4: Add beans to Crockpot

  • Step 5: Heat butter and oil

  • Step 6: Cook onions until soft

  • Step 7: Add tomato paste and spices

  • Step 8: Add water

  • Step 9: Pour into crockpot

  • Step 10: Add rest of ingredients

  • Step 11: Simmer on low 8 hours

  • Step 12: Crush cooked garlic and add back in at the end

  • Step 13: Adding water as needed

  • Step 14: Season to taste at end

  • Step 15: Remove chili pepper

  • Step 16: Serve
