  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Dry:
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar, packed
  • Butter mixture:
  • ⅔ cup pecans
  • 5 tablespoons butter, cut into ½-inch pieces,cold
  • ⅔ cup butterscotch chips

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  • Step 2: Mix dry ingredients

  • Step 3: Cut in butter and pecans

  • Step 4: Add chips at last

  • Step 5: Add wet mixture, adding more cream if needed by teaspoon no more than 3 tablespoons

  • Step 6: Roll out in circle

  • Step 7: Cut 8 scones

  • Step 8: Bake for 15 minutes until lightly browned
