  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups unsweetened applesauce, heated
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • Caramel icing:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 325-degree F

  • Step 2: Grease and flour and Pam spray a 9-inch bundt cake pan.

  • Step 3: Sift together dry ingredients.

  • Step 4: Stir oil and sugar together thoroughly.

  • Step 5: Add to the flour mixture and blend.

  • Step 6: Stir in hot applesauce.

  • Step 7: Mix in raisins and nuts.

  • Step 8: Pour into pan.

  • Step 9: Bake in a preheated 325-degree F oven for 55 minutes.

  • Step 10: Cool the cake in the pan for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack.

  • Step 11: Frost cake when thoroughly cooled.

  • Step 12: To make caramel icing

  • Step 13: Melt butter in a pan and add brown sugar.

  • Step 14: Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, about 2 minutes.

  • Step 15: Add milk and beat well.

  • Step 16: Return to full boil.

  • Step 17: Cool to lukewarm and add in powdered sugar
