Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 slice tomato
  • 1 ounce black forest ham, diced
  • 2 asparagus spears, chopped
  • 3 ounces gouda cheese, shredded,(1/3 cup)
  • 1/4 ounce heavy cream,(3 tablespoons)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees

  • Step 2: Butter gratin dish

  • Step 3: Pam spray dish

  • Step 4: Chop the ham and place in the bottom of the dish.

  • Step 5: Put tomato slice

  • Step 6: Chop all but the top 1 1/2" of the asparagus spears. Par cook the asparagus using a pyrex liquid measure with 1/2 cup water, microwave about 90 seconds.(softened) tips on top

  • Step 7: Drain and place the chopped asparagus in the bottom of the dish with the ham and tomato, reserving the tips.

  • Step 8: Shred enough Gouda cheese to lightly cover the ham and asparagus.

  • Step 9: Create two holes in the cheese.

  • Step 10: Crack two eggs into a bowl.

  • Step 11: Pour the eggs over the cheese, being careful not to break the egg yolks.

  • Step 12: Place the asparagus tops across the top between the two eggs.

  • Step 13: Pour enough heavy cream to lightly cover the eggs.

  • Step 14: Place the egg dish in a larger baking pan with a water bath ,about 3/4th the way up the side of the egg dish.

  • Step 15: Bake for 45 minutes.
