Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Stock:
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 ribs celery, broken in half
  • 1 cup onion, keep it as a chunk of onion
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, each breast cut in half
  • Dumplings:
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper ,to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Stockpot ,

  • Step 2: Add broth, boullion,spices, celery, onion, and chicken breasts.

  • Step 3: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, for about 15 minutes,

  • Step 4: Until the chicken breast is cooked through.

  • Step 5: While the chicken is cooking

  • Step 6: Prepare the dumplings:

  • Step 7: In a medium mixing bowl

  • Step 8: Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Step 9: Stir in the milk just until combined into a shaggy dough.

  • Step 10: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll to about 1/4 inch thickness.

  • Step 11: Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips or squares about 1 to 2 inches in size.

  • Step 12: Once the chicken is cooked through

  • Step 13: Remove it to a cutting board.

  • Step 14: Remove the onion chunk and celery pieces and discard.(use in a veggie dish)

  • Step 15: Add the dough strips to the simmering broth and simmer for about 30 minutes

  • Step 16: Stirring occasionally, allowing the dumplings to cook and the broth to thicken to a gravy-like consistency.

  • Step 17: While the dumplings are simmering, chop chicken and return to the pot.

  • Step 18: Add salt and pepper to taste,
