Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion,finely diced
  • 1/2 cup finely diced bell pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup ritz crackers, (48 crackers total), crushed
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Topping:
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoon brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Step 2: Pam spray a 13 x 9 casserole

  • Step 3: In a small bowl

  • Step 4: Combine the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Place to the side.

  • Step 5: This will be used later as the topping.

  • Step 6: In a large bowl

  • Step 7: Combine the eggs, crushed Ritz crackers, cheese, milk, onion, bell pepper, salt and black pepper.

  • Step 8: Mix well.

  • Step 9: Add in the ground beef.

  • Step 10: Mix well just to combine.

  • Step 11: Do not over mix.

  • Step 12: Place inside a casserole and form loaf

  • Step 13: Bake for 30 minutes.

  • Step 14: Remove from the oven and spread the topping over the meatloaf.

  • Step 15: Bake for an additional 40 minutes .

  • Step 16: Let it cool for 15 minutes tented with foil before serving.
