Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 8 ounces dry elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon onion,grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 8 ounces sharp grated cheddar cheese, shredded,(2 cups)
  • 1/4 ounce parmesan cheese, grated,(3 tablespoons)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon accent, optional,msg
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/16 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup potato chips,coarsely crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Grease a 2-quart casserole Pam spray it

  • Step 3: Cook macaroni in heavily salted boiling water al dente

  • Step 4: Drain

  • Step 5: Meanwhile

  • Step 6: Melt butter in the top of a double boiler over simmering water, blend in the flour

  • Step 7: Add onion and garlic

  • Step 8: Cook until translucent

  • Step 9: And gradually stir in the milk.

  • Step 10: Cook, whisking frequently, until thickened and smooth.

  • Step 11: Add the cheeses and continue to cook and stir until melted.

  • Step 12: Add remaining ingredients except potato chips and paprika.

  • Step 13: Mix well

  • Step 14: Add pasta.

  • Step 15: Pour into prepared casserole, sprinkle top with potato chips and dust with paprika to taste.

  • Step 16: Bake 20-30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
