Step 1: Cream butter
Step 2: Add sugar and beat well until lighter in color.
Step 3: Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Step 4: Whisk flour, cocoa, soda and salt
Step 5: Add to creamed mixture, alternately with sour cream.
Step 6: Slowly add boiling water; mix well.
Step 7: Add vanilla.
Step 8: Pour batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Step 9: Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
Step 10: Cool in pan for 15 minutes.
