Step 1: Lemon Tea Cake:
Step 2: Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar.
Step 3: Add eggs one at a time.
Step 4: Sift together flour,salt and baking soda.
Step 5: Cut the lemon in quarters and remove seeds.
Step 6: Chop finely or grind with dates.(I would zest and add fruit, avoiding the pith),(food processor)
Step 7: Place ground lemons and dates in a bowl and add 1/2 of the flour mix.
Step 8: Mix lightly with fork.
Step 9: Fold in sifted mixture and fruits alternately with sour cream.
Step 10: Bake in two 8' greased and floured cake pans at 350º for 25 minutes.
Step 11: Cool thoroughly and frost.
Step 12: Lemon Tea Cake Frosting:
Step 13: Cream butter.
Step 14: Gradually add powdered sugar.
Step 15: Add sour cream, vanilla, and lemon juice.
Step 16: Beat well and frost cake.
