  • 1 egg
  • 3½ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 pound cottage cheese
  • 1/4 ounce sour cream,(2 tablespoons)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup seedless raisins ,plumped
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Whisk 3 cups flour and the ½ teaspoon sugar and 1/8 teaspoon salt.

  • Step 2: Add a mixture of milk ,egg and water to make a smooth thin dough.

  • Step 3: Roll out as thin as possible, using a little of the remaining flour.

  • Step 4: Cut into 2½-inch squares.

  • Step 5: Smooth the cottage cheese with sour cream.

  • Step 6: Add the egg yolk, remaining sugar and salt, and fold into triangles or into an envelope shape.

  • Step 7: Pinch the edges together.

  • Step 8: Drop into boiling salted water for 5 minutes.

  • Step 9: Serve with melted butter and raisins.

  • Step 10: You may sauté these in the butter if you wish, turning once.

  • Step 11: Cook 2 minutes on each side.
