Step 1: Sauté the onion in butter until light brown.
Step 2: Mix with the remaining ingredients except buns. Split the buns and put a 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch patty on the split side of the buns. (Will be open faced)
Step 3: Put the meat all the way to the edge. Store in a refrigerator to firm the beef until ready to cook. Broil 6 inches away from the heat for 6 to 8 minutes.
Step 4: Put on condiments as you like.
