Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons of sifted good quality cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/4 cups white or vegan brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 6 tablespoons canola oil (or any veg. oil, even olive oil)
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cold water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 9-inch baking pan.

  • Step 2: Place flour into mixing bowl, add cocoa, baking soda, vegan sugar and salt and mix well. Make three deep holes in the dry mixture. Into one, pour the oil, into the next, pour the vinegar into the next, pour the vanilla. Pour the water into the bowl, over all of this .

  • Step 3: Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until very smooth. Transfer to baking pan.

  • Step 4: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cake tests done.
