The ingredients are:
  • 2 1/2 pounds ground beef,(chuck)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups onions, chopped
  • 1 can (29 ounces)tomato sauce
  • 1 can(6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1⁄4 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix all ingredients except for the bay leaves together until smooth.

  • Step 2: DO NOT BROWN THE GROUND BEEF.

  • Step 3: This is what makes the texture so fine.

  • Step 4: Cook over medium low heat until meat is browned stirring frequently.

  • Step 5: Place bay leaves on top.

  • Step 6: Cover and simmer on low heat for 3 hours.

  • Step 7: Stir occasionally.

  • Step 8: Remove bay leaves.

  • Step 9: Skim fat from top.

  • Step 10: Serve over cooked Al dente spaghetti noodles.
