Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 16 ounces dry linguine
  • 8 cups water, boiling
  • Sauce:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Slurry:
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • Garnish:
  • 4 green onions ,diced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown the ground beef along with the ginger and garlic until beef is cooked through.

  • Step 2: Add mushrooms & red pepper flakes

  • Step 3: Drain any fat and return the pan to the stovetop.

  • Step 4: While the ground beef is cooking,

  • Step 5: Meanwhile

  • Step 6: Get a pot of water started for your pasta noodles.

  • Step 7: Back to sauce

  • Step 8: Combine the remaining ingredients

  • Step 9: The soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, pepper, and hoisin sauce in a small dish and pour into ground beef mixture.

  • Step 10: Saute in the pan for about 3 minutes .

  • Step 11: Once your pasta is done cooking Al dente it's going to finish in sauce

  • Step 12: Add sesame oil to drained noodles

  • Step 13: Drain keeping 1/2 cup pasta water

  • Step 14: Transfer the noodles to the ground beef mixture. Mix thoroughly

  • Step 15: Add slurry

  • Step 16: And allow to cook for a couple of more minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.

  • Step 17: Add pasta water a little at a time to loosen up sauce if needed

  • Step 18: Top with green onions and toasted sesame seed
