Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1⁄4 ounce dry yeast ,(1 package)
  • 1⁄4 cup water,warm
  • 8 ounces cottage cheese, (1 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons dill seeds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 egg, unbeaten
  • 2 1⁄4 cups flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat cottage cheese and butter together.(in microwave)

  • Step 2: Soften yeast in warm water (until it proofs ).

  • Step 3: Combine in mixing bowl

  • Step 4: Cottage cheese, butter, sugar, onion, dill seed, salt, baking soda, egg and softened yeast.

  • Step 5: Add flour to form stiff dough, beating well after each addition. (May need 1/4 cup more)

  • Step 6: Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

  • Step 7: Knead down dough.

  • Step 8: Make into round ball and put on greased pan.(could be baked in round casserole pan)

  • Step 9: Let raise again

  • Step 10: Bake in 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes.
