Step 1: In large stock pot
Step 2: Heat oil to saute the garlic and onions until fragrant.
Step 3: Remove
Step 4: Brown the beef brisket and let it cook until the color of the meat turns light brown.
Step 5: Add in Worcestershire sauce and let the meat absorb the flavors.
Step 6: Add onion mix back in
Step 7: Then add the beef broth, seasoning and star anise. let it come to a boil.
Step 8: Adjust to low and simmer until beef becomes very tender.
Step 9: About 2 hours on low heat .
Step 10: Meanwhile
Step 11: Toast sliced garlic in oil until browned
Step 12: Cook egg noodles
Step 13: Drain
Step 14: In stock pot
Step 15: Remove scum that floats on top and discard the star anise.
Step 16: Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 17: Slice beef brisket
Step 18: Prepare the cooked egg noodles and chopped chinese cabbage into serving bowls.
Step 19: Pour the hot soup and slice of beef brisket into the bowl with noodles.
Step 20: Garnish with sliced boiled egg and spring onions and lots of toasted garlic on top.
