  • 12 ounces red lentils, (1 1/2 cups)
  • 2 ounces dried white rice,(1/4 cup)
  • 2 ounces bulgur wheat berries,(1/4 cup)
  • 8 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon dried mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lemon, wedges

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil and butter

  • Step 2: Saute onions

  • Step 3: Add garlic and tomato

  • Step 4: Add spices

  • Step 5: Add tomato paste

  • Step 6: Add stock

  • Step 7: Add rice, lentils,bulgar and mint

  • Step 8: Bring to a boil

  • Step 9: Season to taste

  • Step 10: Turn down simmer for 1 hour adding water as needed

  • Step 11: Season to taste

  • Step 12: Add lemon juice
