  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup walnuts,chopped
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1⁄2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon allspice

How to Make

  • Step 1: Add raisins to boiling water cook 5 minutes

  • Step 2: Then leave until cooled

  • Step 3: Cream shortening, sugar,

  • Step 4: Add eggs and vanilla.

  • Step 5: Add cooled raisins, including liquid.

  • Step 6: Add flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices.

  • Step 7: Mix well.

  • Step 8: Stir in chopped nuts.

  • Step 9: Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet.(make big)

  • Step 10: Bake at 375 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes.

  • Step 11: DO NOT overbake!
