Step 1: Beat butter for 30 seconds.
Step 2: Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
Step 3: Add milk and vanilla and beat well.
Step 4: Stir in flour, then cherries and pecans.
Step 5: Shape into three 7-inch rolls.
Step 6: Roll dough in coconut to coat outside.
Step 7: Wrap in waxed paper or clean plastic wrap.
Step 8: Chill thoroughly overnight.
Step 9: Next day
Step 10: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 11: Cut into 1/4 inch slices.
Step 12: Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Step 13: Bake in 375 oven for 12 minutes or until edges are golden.
