How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large mixing bowl

  • Step 2: Add the butter and brown sugar.

  • Step 3: Beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

  • Step 4: Add the flour, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Continue mixing

  • Step 5: Scraping down the sides as needed to make sure all of the flour is combined.

  • Step 6: Chill the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  • Step 7: Preheat the oven to 325 F

  • Step 8: Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  • Step 9: Once dough is chilled

  • Step 10: Remove from the fridge and, using your hands, roll into 1- to 2-inch dough balls (this recipe should yield 20).

  • Step 11: Make sure to form them carefully, as the dough is quite dry and crumbly.

  • Step 12: Place the balls onto the parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart.

  • Step 13: Using your palm or the bottom of a floured glass, gently press down to flatten slightly.

  • Step 14: Bake in the oven until golden, about 15 minutes.
