Step 1: Mixing bowl dissolve yeast in warm water and let sit for about 10 minutes.
Step 2: Add sugar and salt and about half the flour.
Step 3: Beat thoroughly 2 minutes.
Step 4: Add egg and butter (or shortening )
Step 5: Beat in rest of flour gradually until smooth.
Step 6: Drop small spoonfuls over entire bottom of 9 inch greased pan.
Step 7: Cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk about 1 hour.
Step 8: Meanwhile
Step 9: Combine the streusel ingredients and sprinkle over the bread before cooking.
Step 10: Heat oven to 375 degrees and bake 30-35 minutes.
Step 11: Immediately turn out of pan to avoid sticking.
Step 12: Serve warm.
