Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 8 ounces dry pinto beans
  • 1 can (28 ounces) hominy
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons pepper
  • 8 ounces ham cubed
  • 6 cups water
  • Garnish:
  • 4 anaheim peppers
  • 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
  • 4 green onions

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put beans and hominy undrained into crockpot add water ham and seasoning to taste

  • Step 2: Can put in a dried chili pepper if you wish

  • Step 3: Turn on low cook for 8 hours adding water if needed

  • Step 4: When beans are almost done char the chilies in the broiler or on gas grill

  • Step 5: When blacked put in paper bag to steam skin off

  • Step 6: Remove skin and chop into a bowl on side

  • Step 7: And serve cleaned green onion and red onion on side also season to taste on the beans
