Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 pounds beef chuck,cubed
  • 8 ounces bacon,(8 slices)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cups onions,sliced
  • 1 bottle (12 ounces) dark beer
  • 1 cup beef consomme
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook bacon to render fat

  • Step 2: Pepper the beef heavily

  • Step 3: Add some salt if you wish

  • Step 4: Brown in fat

  • Step 5: Remove

  • Step 6: Add onions

  • Step 7: And cook until translucent

  • Step 8: (Can put in crockpot here on low for 8 hours)

  • Step 9: Add beef and rest of ingredients back in simmer for 3 hours until tender making sure doesn't boil dry. Add more broth if needed
