Step 2: Add bacon grease
Step 3: Cook patties until browned
Step 4: Remove
Step 5: Add flour to pan and whisk to incorporate.
Step 6: Continue cooking and whisking for about 3-4 minutes or until roux is medium brown.
Step 7: Add beef stock and continue whisking for 2-3 minutes or until gravy starts to thicken a little (gravy will be thin).
Step 8: Whisk in sugar, salt and pepper to taste.
Step 9: Pour in diced tomatoes .
Step 10: Turn heat up until mixture comes to a gentle boil. Whisking occasionally.
Step 11: Next, add hamburger steaks to gravy, reduce heat to medium and continue cooking uncovered
