Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 7 ounces dry white rice(1 cup)
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Meatballs:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 egg,beaten
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup white wine
  • 1 can(16 ounces)tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoons fresh parsley,minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Make the rice covered in 2 cups water on simmer 20 minutes

  • Step 2: Leave cover on rice until serving

  • Step 3: Meanwhile

  • Step 4: Make meatballs by combining all ingredients

  • Step 5: Roll into walnut sized balls

  • Step 6: Heat oil in skillet

  • Step 7: Fry until browned

  • Step 8: Remove

  • Step 9: Add olive oil

  • Step 10: Add onions

  • Step 11: Add garlic

  • Step 12: Deglaze with wine

  • Step 13: Add rest of sauce ingredients

  • Step 14: Add meatballs back in simmer 20 minutes until sauce is reduced

  • Step 15: Remove bay leaf

  • Step 16: Season to taste

  • Step 17: Put over rice
