  • 1 1/2 pounds pork chop
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoons shortening
  • 3 apples ,peeled,cored,cut in 1/2
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar,packed
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup raisins

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 degrees

  • Step 2: Heat shortening in skillet (they used lard)

  • Step 3: Rub sage and 1st set of seasonings on chops

  • Step 4: Brown

  • Step 5: Meanwhile add brown sugar to apples

  • Step 6: Remove chops to baking pan

  • Step 7: Add flour and second set of seasonings to fat

  • Step 8: Brown

  • Step 9: Add water and vinegar

  • Step 10: Stir

  • Step 11: Cook until thickened

  • Step 12: Put apple on top of chop

  • Step 13: Sprinkle raisins In

  • Step 14: Pour gravy mix over chops

  • Step 15: Cover with foil

  • Step 16: Bake 60 minutes

  • Step 17: Until chops are tender
