  • 3 tablespoons bacon grease
  • 3⁄4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1⁄3 cup green pepper, diced
  • 2 cans (30 ounces)chicken broth,((14 1/2 ounces each)
  • 1 can (4 ounces) mushrooms
  • 3 cans(30 ounces) cream of mushroom soup, undiluted,(10 3/4 ounces each)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Wash wild rice.

  • Step 2: Boil for 15 minutes

  • Step 3: Drain.

  • Step 4: Meanwhile in stockpot

  • Step 5: Cook the bacon

  • Step 6: Removing

  • Step 7: Reserving 3 tablespoons drippings.

  • Step 8: Saute celery, onion and green pepper in drippings until transparent.

  • Step 9: Put in with the diced cooked bacon,rice, broth, soup and mushrooms.

  • Step 10: Cook on low for 90 minutes.

  • Step 11: Do not add salt!
