  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 7 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup walnut meal
  • 1 egg,beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 12 walnut pieces

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a bowl

  • Step 2: Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

  • Step 3: Whisk to combine.

  • Step 4: In the bowl

  • Step 5: Cream butter and sugar

  • Step 6: Add flour mixture

  • Step 7: Mix to combine.

  • Step 8: Add ½ the egg and milk.

  • Step 9: Mix until thoroughly combined.

  • Step 10: It is a dry looking dough, but do not be tempted to add more liquid.

  • Step 11: The heat from your hands will provide the additional moisture to make the cookies come together.

  • Step 12: Place a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet.

  • Step 13: Spray with non stick spray.

  • Step 14: Form walnut sized balls.

  • Step 15: Make an indent and place a walnut piece in the center.

  • Step 16: Place on prepared sheet.

  • Step 17: Repeat until all the cookies have been formed.

  • Step 18: Leave to rest for 15 minutes.

  • Step 19: While the cookies are resting

  • Step 20: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Step 21: Brush cookies with the other half of the egg.

  • Step 22: Bake for 15 minutes

  • Step 23: Until golden brown.

  • Step 24: As soon as you take them out

  • Step 25: Press the walnut cookies into the dough again if necessary.

  • Step 26: Let cool
