Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (18 ounce) box Duncan Hines Orange Cake Mix (prepared with ingredients on the box EXCEPT using Orange Crush soda in place of water)
  • 1 (6 ounce) box orange Jello powder
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 1 cup Orange Crush soda
  • Frosting:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) box vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) box orange Jello powder
  • 1 cup light cream (or milk)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip frozen topping, thawed

How to Make

  • Step 1: Prepare then bake the cake in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan (using orange soda in place of the water). Cool completely.

  • Step 2: When cooled, using a wooden meat skewer or a large meat fork poke holes all over the cake. In a bowl mix large 6 ounce box of Jello with the 1 1/2 cups hot water and 1 cup orange soda; allow to sit until just starting to set up. Slowly pour over the cooled cake and allow to run into holes. Chill cake for about 2 or more hours or until cold.

  • Step 3: For the frosting; in a bowl beat the cheese until creamy. Add the dry Jello powder, pudding mix, light cream or milk and the vanilla; beat until thoroughly combined. Fold in Cool Whip. Spread on cake and chill until served.
