Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 kg beef rump steak (thick rump cut into 3cm cubes)
  • 2 teaspoons black ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 capsicum (large red cut into 2 1/2 cm squares)
  • 2 onions (medium red onions, cut into 2 1/2 cm squares)
  • TO SERVE
  • Green salad
  • Herb leaves, of choice such as thyme or coriander

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak eight wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes or if using metal skewers, you will not need to do this.

  • Step 2: Combine the beef, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, Tabasco, oil and garlic in a bowl.

  • Step 3: Thread three pieces of the meat onto each skewer, putting a piece of capsicum and onion in between each piece.

  • Step 4: Preheat the barbecue or a char-grill plate/pan over medium heat.

  • Step 5: Lightly oil the barbecue and cook skewers, turning occasionally, until lightly charred (about 2-3 minutes per side),

  • Step 6: Sprinkle the skewers with thyme or other herb/s and serve with a green salad.
