  • 3 egg yolks,large
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice ,unstrained
  • 1/2 cup water,boiling
  • 1 box (3 ounces) lime jello
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • Topping:
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3 egg whites,(1/2 cup)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine egg yolks sugar and salt

  • Step 2: Stir in lime juices

  • Step 3: Cook in double boiler until it comes to a boil

  • Step 4: Remove from heat

  • Step 5: In another bowl mix the jello zest and boiling water

  • Step 6: Pour into custard mixture and beat

  • Step 7: It says cool down

  • Step 8: In another bowl

  • Step 9: Beat egg whites sugar and cream of tartar until stiff

  • Step 10: It says fold into cold custard and pour into pie shell

  • Step 11: Chill at least 2 hours
