Step 4: Heat butter in stockpot
Step 5: Add beef/flour mixture
Step 6: And brown
Step 7: Add onions
Step 8: Add garlic
Step 9: Add broth and herbs
Step 10: Add carrots
Step 11: Bring to boil
Step 12: Skim foam off top
Step 13: Simmer for 2 hours until meat is tender
Step 14: Remove bay leaf
Step 15: Last 15 minutes add noodles
Step 16: Check for seasonings
