Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 bag(2 pounds) sauerkraut
  • 4 ounces bacon,(4 slices)
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 potato,peeled,grated
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoons pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: In large saucepan

  • Step 2: Fry bacon, remove,crumble

  • Step 3: Saute onion in fat till soft

  • Step 4: Add flour and seasonings

  • Step 5: Drain juice from kraut.

  • Step 6: With kraut still in bag add tap water.

  • Step 7: Pour kraut and water into the saucepan and turn heat down over a low flame

  • Step 8: Add potato,caraway seeds and bacon to kraut.

  • Step 9: Simmer for 45 minutes.
