Step 1: Whisk dry ingredients
Step 2: Add boiling water
Step 3: Mix until combined
Step 4: Heat bacon grease in skillet
Step 5: Let the mixture cool slightly.
Step 6: When the mixture is cool enough to handle,
Step 7: Wetting your hands in cold water, shape into patties by forming a ball with about 3 tablespoons of the mixture and then flattening it into a 1/2-inch patty with your fingers.
Step 8: Fry the patties in the hot grease in small batches, turning often until golden on both sides.
Step 9: Remove from the grease and drain on paper towels.
