Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 16 ounces dry navy beans
  • 2 pounds beef soup bones
  • 1 cup onions,chopped
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 can (15 ounces)whole tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter,(fat)
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cover beans with water

  • Step 2: Next day drain add 6 cupswater

  • Step 3: Add soup bones and onion

  • Step 4: Cover bring to a boil

  • Step 5: Turn down to a simmer

  • Step 6: Cook until beans are mushy

  • Step 7: About 5 hours adding water as needed stirring occasionally

  • Step 8: Take bones out and it says sieve the beans but we're using stick blender

  • Step 9: Until creamy

  • Step 10: Add tomatoes broken up

  • Step 11: Mix flour and butter and seasoning

  • Step 12: Drop into hot boiling soup in pieces

  • Step 13: Stirring constantly

  • Step 14: Cook until thickened slightly

  • Step 15: Check for seasonings
