Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt
  • Topping:
  • 1 egg white ,slightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Step 2: Cream butter and 2 cups sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Step 3: One at a time

  • Step 4: Add 2 eggs, beating after each is added.

  • Step 5: Beat in vanilla.

  • Step 6: Separate remaining egg and add yolk to the mixture.

  • Step 7: Mix in flour and salt.

  • Step 8: On a lightly floured board

  • Step 9: Roll out dough until thin.

  • Step 10: Using a shot glass,(or 2 inch glass)

  • Step 11: Cut out circles of dough

  • Step 12: Dipping rim of the glass in flour, as needed, to keep the dough from sticking.

  • Step 13: Place dough on a greased baking sheet. Beat the remaining egg white slightly and brush on cookies.

  • Step 14: Mix the cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • Step 15: Sprinkle on the top of the cookies.

  • Step 16: Bake in preheated 350 degrees F oven for 7 to 10 minutes, or until edges are light brown.
