  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon rind, grated
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 2 cups confectioners sugar, sifted
  • 1/4 cup butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 lemon, grated
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 teaspoons milk (or more, until spreading consistency) she used cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven at 325 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

  • Step 3: In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks until light and lemon-colored.

  • Step 5: Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and resift 3 times.

  • Step 6: Add sifted ingredients to creamed mixture in thirds, alternating with milk. Beat the batter thoroughly after each addition.

  • Step 7: Add vanilla extract, lemon rind and lemon juice and beat 2 minutes.

  • Step 8: Bake in greased 10-inch Bundt pan in preheated oven at 325 degrees F for 1 hour(or in 9 inch layer pans (3?) at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes.
