Step 1: Soak beans in enough water to cover, overnight
Step 2: Drain and rinse.
Step 3: Melt butter and add onion and garlic. Saute for 10 minutes.
Step 4: Add fresh tomato and sugar.
Step 5: Saute for 5 minutes.
Step 6: Add Rotels, beans, sausage and enough water to cover beans by one inch.
Step 7: Cook 2 hours or until tender.
Step 8: Add salt and pepper.
Step 9: Serve over rice.
