  • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 3/4 cup tomato juice
  • 3 tablespoons butter,melted

How to Make

  • Step 1: 1. Sift together dry ingredients.

  • Step 2: Mix in shortening using fork

  • Step 3: Add tomato juice.

  • Step 4: Blend lightly until mixture is moistened.

  • Step 5: Turn out on floured board

  • Step 6: Knead lightly.

  • Step 7: Roll out to about 3/4-inch thick.

  • Step 8: Cut rounds with floured biscuit cutter. Place on lightly greased baking pan. Brush tops lightly with melted margarine.

  • Step 9: Bake in preheated 450 degrees F. oven about 12 minutes.

  • Step 10: Brush with margarine again
