Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Step 2: Butter and parchment paper 2 9 inch cake pans
Step 3: Cream butter
Step 4: Gradually add sugar in and beat
Step 5: Gradually add water that has 2 tablespoons flour mixed in
Step 6: Sift the dry ingredients together
Step 7: Mix into creamed mixture beat hard
Step 8: Fold in whites
Step 9: Pour into prepared pans and bake 15 minutes (until cake leaves side of the pan are the instructions given for time)
Step 10: Cool
Step 11: For frosting :
Step 12: Beat egg yolk until creamy add juices brandy and zest
Step 13: Add enough powdered sugar to be stiff enough to spread
