Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 4 English Breakfast or Irish Breakfast tea bags, or orange pekoe tea bags
  • 1/4 cup powdered Tang (or another orange-flavored powdered beverage mix)
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 orange, sliced (or 2 lemons sliced)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place 6 1/2 cups of water in a saucepan and add the cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil, turn down the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and add the tea bags. Let the tea bags steep for 3 - 4 minutes, or up to 5 minutes for stronger brew. Strain the tea into a clean saucepan, stir in the Tang and almond extract, and let cool to room temperature before refrigerating.

  • Step 2: Serve over ice in tall 12-ounce glasses and garnish each serving with a slice of orange or lemon.

  • NOTE: Experiment with each flavoring, adding more or less to suit your personal taste. This tea can be kept in the refrigerator overnight, but it will be cloudy the next day - behaving the same as regular tea.
