  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1⁄2 cup red currant jam
  • 1⁄4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 3 pounds red cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 tart green apple, cored, peeled, and roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter in a stockpot over medium-high.

  • Step 2: Cook onion until soft, 5–7 minutes.

  • Step 3: Add blueberries, jam, vinegar, cinnamon, ginger, cabbage, apple, salt, pepper, and ¼ cup water

  • Step 4: Bring to a boil.

  • Step 5: Reduce heat to simmer

  • Step 6: Cook, covered, until cabbage is tender,

  • Step 7: Stirring occasionally so doesn't burn

  • Step 8: Add water as needed so it does not

  • Step 9: About 1 hour.
