The ingredients are:
  • 16 ounces sour cream (1 1/2 cups)
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoons cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup raisins, chopped
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla
  • 9 ounce pie shell (baked, 1 shell)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In double boiler, scald 1 cup of the sour cream

  • Step 2: Mix together rest of sour cream spices flour and egg yolks. Temper into sour cream

  • Step 3: Stirring constantly so that sour cream doesn't curdle. After 15 minutes will thicken

  • Step 4: Add raisins and vanilla

  • Step 5: Meanwhile, beat the egg whites and 2 tablespoons sugar until stiff

  • Step 6: Pour cooled raisin mixture into baked pie shell

  • Step 7: Top with meringue and broil until browned
