Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar,packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup toasted almonds, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 227 grams almond paste,(1 cup),finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cream butter and sugars together.

  • Step 2: Beat in the eggs.

  • Step 3: Blend in the chopped almond paste.

  • Step 4: Add a few drops of water if the dough gets too stiff.

  • Step 5: Sift flour ,salt,spices and soda together

  • Step 6: And add to mixture.

  • Step 7: Mix in the chopped nuts .

  • Step 8: Form dough into

  • Step 9: Square loaf/roll and wrap in plastic. You want a 2 inch across cookie

  • Step 10: Refrigerate overnite.

  • Step 11: Heat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 12: Slice cookies very thin (1/8 inch) and bake on ungreased cookie sheet

  • Step 13: At 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

  • Step 14: Keep rest of dough in fridge and take out as needed

  • Step 15: Remove from pan and cool on rack.
