Step 1: Preheat broiler.
Step 2: In a large skillet
Step 3: Over medium heat
Step 4: Sauté bacon, until crispy.
Step 5: Transfer to paper towels to drain.
Step 6: Discard some bacon fat.
Step 7: Return pan to medium heat.
Step 8: Add oil, onions and paprika.
Step 9: Sauté until onions are very soft and beginning to brown
Step 10: 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 11: Meanwhile
Step 12: Season liver with salt and pepper to taste,
Step 13: And broil as desired, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes a side for a medium center.
Step 14: To serve
Step 15: Remove onions from heat and season to taste.
Step 16: Place a slice of liver on each of two serving plates.
Step 17: Smother with onions and top with bacon.
