  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped (or any nut)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the oven to 350°Fahrenheit.

  • Step 2: Cream the shortening and sugar in a medium bowl. Then add the water, tomato soup, and baking soda.

  • Step 3: Get out a large bowl and sift the dry ingredients together. Add the wet ingredients a little at a time, stirring it all together just until mixed.

  • Step 4: In a greased and floured 13 X 9 inch pan, cook for one hour or until a toothpick comes out clean. Frost with cream cheese icing.
